8bits Media

92% Satisfaction Rating

Nearly two years after 8bits launched the redesigned website for a private school on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, over 92% of the parents are still satisfied.

Caloundra City School recently conducted a parent survey to obtain feedback on aspects of the school. Feedback regarding the website was overwhelmingly positive.

Over the last two years Caloundra City School has grown considerably. New buildings, a large increase in the student population and a new library are underway. The physical shape of the school is evolving.

Alongside this the emergence of Web 2.0, the rise of micro blogging services such as Twitter & the explosion of social networking has impacted how business and education engage on the world wide web.

Despite such change the school's website has proved resilient. Not surprisingly, this is due to effective planning.

During the initial stages of the site redesign 8bits conducted card sorting activities and interviews with key user groups to assist in the development of a new information architecture.

The consultation process ensured the site was created to cater for the needs of the school community.

Deciding to invest in a new website is an important decision. The survey results illustrate one aspect of the return on this investment.
